Dear Adventurer,
Perhaps you are on a quest to find the Standard Edition Unofficial Legend of Zelda cookbook! It is a print-on-demand book, so I do not stock it myself anymore. Instead, you must discover it where books are sold— and for that, you have a few options. Choose your own adventure, and gain rewards!
Easy-Mode: (if necessary!) Purchase online, from an online bookseller. A simple search for “The Unofficial Legend of Zelda Cookbook” and you can find it on Better World Books, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and more… but if you would prefer a more adventurous and story driven option:
Hard-Mode: (recommended!) Venture forth to your local, independent bookstore or LIBRARY!! Chances are, they will NOT have the cookbook in stock, but they CAN order it for you from their usual distributor (Ingram!). In the case of a library, you do not even need to pay anything in order to order and borrow the cookbook.
A: Order in person: Speak to a person at the front desk (at a library or bookstore), and they can look up the title, “The Unofficial Legend of Zelda Cookbook” (if they need the ISBN 13, it is: 978-1734473100), and they can order it for you through their system.
B: Order online through their digital catalog: Some independent bookstores (and most libraries!) will have an online catalogue (like The Tattered Cover, in Denver Colorado!). Look up the cookbook there, order it for pick up, and get notified when they receive it for you. If they don’t have it, as will be the case for most libraries, there should be a way to request it!
But… Why indie book shops and libraries instead of big online retailers?
My preference is borne from my desire to support indie and local in person shops and libraries above corporations, as they are often the last remaining ‘third space’ hold outs. If you are able to spend money and time in your local shop or library, attend local events, and become a part of your local community, I am happy.
I will not judge you for where you purchase the cookbook, and I will not even know where the order came from. Do what you need to do, of course!
I DO get paid the same amount, regardless of where you buy it. Even if one place is cheaper than another, I get the same royalty, so do not worry about that.
I know it is a bit of a hassle to buy local instead of two-day delivery, but I am so glad to have book stores, libraries, and book lovers in this world— and it means a lot to me if you are able to support them. And! The cookbook becomes your reward for completing a daring quest to your local bookstore!
Welcome to the cooking adventure,
Aimee
ps— …and one more small reward. If you do succeed in buying your cookbook locally, I’d love to know about it! Use the code “BUYLOCAL” for a 50% off coupon for the signed bookplate in my shop. For $5, you will receive a small note in the mail from me, with a sticker for the signature page of your cookbook (fits both standard and master editions). When you check out, please leave me a note about your adventure!
Or, if you did want to go above and beyond with your support, and you can afford it— I do earn more money from the Master Editions here.
